The Jackson clan picked Forest Lawn's Great Mausoleum for its high security. Once you enter the Mausoleum, you are greeted by a huge stained-glass reproduction of da Vinci's "The Last Supper." To get anywhere near Jackson's crypt, you have to be on an approved list of people who are allowed.

Karen Faye, Jackson's long-time makeup artist, is on that list. She has been taking fan-made tributes to the crypt every other week. Karen feels like she is the friend of Michael's fans. Therefore she is presumably the only thing that connects Michael to his fans at the moment.
A private ceremony was held between close confidants, friends, and family members of Michael before Michael was laid in the Mausoleum. Pastor Lucias Smith, who also spoke at Jackson's memorial, opened the service with a prayer.
Michael's three children placed a crown on their father's casket. Michael's five brothers - Jackie, Tito, Jermaine, Marlon, Randy - served as Pallbearers. Michael's father Joe and Rev. Al Sharpton delivered eulogies.
Following the service, the Jackson brothers carried Michael to his final resting place... in the Great Mausoleum.
